Africa-Press – Angola. Leaders of religious denominations based in Saurimo municipality, Lunda-Sul province, yesterday defended the strengthening of dialogue and spirit of tolerance among Angolans for the preservation of peace and national reconciliation.
The more than 100 participants in the meeting debated, among other issues, “Christian ethics in promoting spiritual peace”, “State secularism and religious legality”, “Intervention by the National Police in public and religious security”, and the “Role of social action in securing vulnerable families”.
On the sidelines of the event that the Culture, Youth Tourism and Sports office promoted under the theme “the role of the State and the churches in promoting peace”, the pastor of the Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola IECA, Noé Kussuvila, considered that the event will “gather contributions in favor of social harmony, cohesion and happiness within families”. they are promoters of good and must strive to raise social morality, to eradicate vandalism and conduct contrary to ethical and moral values.
Kussuvila recalls that effective peace paved the way for free movement. The Protestant prelate foresees that the initiative will contribute to the liberation of people from “evil spirits, and strengthen faith in the peace that Christ left to Angolans”.
His counterpart from the Evangelical Church of Angola IEA Mateus Miguel noted that the proclamation of the Divine word aims to shape man spiritually, to achieve salvation, and to promote peace, reconciliation and forgiveness. He invited youth in particular to tolerance in order to walk the right path.
At the opening of the meeting, the director of the Culture, Youth Tourism and Sports office, Salvador Wanuque, praised the role that churches play and reiterated unconditional support for strengthening the existing partnership.
