It is a project of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry that began to be implemented in 2016, which has so far allowed the creation of 64 direct and 100 indirect jobs.
With this project, the government intends to transform the province of Cuanza Norte, into the corn and soybean triangle of the northern region of the country.
More villages electrified
In the social domain, emphasis should be given to the inauguration of the public lighting and electricity distribution systems at the municipal headquarters of Banga and the villages of Kiboto, Lenvula and Kididi, in Bolongongo, and Kakiôngua I and II, in Quiculungo.
The systems were built within the scope of the Angolan Government project for the electrification of 53 villages in the municipalities of Bolongongo, Banga and Ngonguembo, budgeted at 88 million and 700 thousand Euros.
In total, the systems include 1,718 home connections, 850 in the municipal headquarters of Banga and 250 in the locations of Kiboto, Lenvula, Kididi Kakiôngua I and II.
It also comprises seven transformer stations (PT) of 250 kaviagens each, a low voltage network of 33 kilometers and a medium voltage transmission line of 40 kilometers from the Pambo de Sonhi substation, in the municipality of Samba Caju.
The systems also have 483 public lighting posts and are benefiting more than eight thousand inhabitants of these localities.
Banga is the ninth of the 10 municipalities in the province to benefit from electricity produced from the Cambambe, Capanda and Laúca hydroelectric dams.
Still in the energy sector, it is worth highlighting the arrival of electricity from the public network, at the communal seat of Dange-ya-Menha, in the municipality of Cambambe, with the inauguration of the first phase of the district’s electrification project.
The system comprises three Transformer Substations (PT) of 250 kavaiagens (KVA) each, 131 public lighting posts and 275 home connections of the prepaid consumption system.
The 3,850 meter long network is connected to a 30 kilovolt (Kv) line, which connects the Cafuma substation, in the city of Dondo, to the Lucala ll location.
The second phase of the project included the electrification of the Quiringo and Caxissa localities, with electrification work being carried out in the villages of Cassua I and II, in Dange-ya-Menha, as well as the communal headquarters of São Pedro da Quilemba.
Privatization of BCI
In the banking domain, emphasis should be placed on the closure of the Bank of Commerce and Industry (BCI) branch in Ndalatando, capital of the province, transferring the accounts domiciled there to the branch in Malanje.
This measure came after the privatization of the bank at an auction on the Stock Exchange for 16.5 billion kwanzas, to the Carrinho business group.
BCI’s decision is causing inconvenience to customers in Ndalatando, mainly those who have their salary domiciled in this facility due to the difficulty of making movements.
