Africa-Press – Angola. The National Police clarified that the “movements of citizens” that took place in the early hours of this morning in some parts of the city of Luanda, “has nothing to do with the publication of the provisional results of the General Elections”, but acts of some delegates of list to complain, from the parties, of non-payment for the work performed.
Speaking to the press, the spokesman for the Main Post for the security of the 2022 Elections, Orlando Bernardo, explained that these are citizens who have signed up to be delegates on lists and other activities related to elections in political parties.
“These citizens who were hired by these political parties are carrying out actions, in order to collect the payment of the work they performed during the electoral process”, said Orlando Bernardo.
The action of these citizens, he said, has to bring about some “worrying vandalism” with the use of means that jeopardize the public good, which leads the police forces to take care of the situation to restore order and tranquility of the citizens.
“We appeal to the political parties that have this responsibility and those pending with these citizens to have a responsible attitude and try to solve these problems”.
Orlando Bernardo warned that if these citizens involved insist on these practices “they will feel the heavy hand” of the National Police.
