Africa-Press – Angola. The businessman Henrique Miguel, better known as “Riquinho,” on Saturday in Luanda was awarded the commemorative medal for the 50th anniversary of National Independence, in the “Peace and Development” category.
For Riquinho, the author of some of Angola’s greatest cultural movements, speaking to the press said that it was no ordinary recognition, as the distinction transcends personal merit.
“This is the first time I have been honored in this way. This gesture from the government is not just for me. It is for all those who, for years, sacrificed day and night to keep the flame of culture alive”, he said.
Riquinho is an event promoter, producer, businessman, and a key figure in the Angolan cultural scene since the 1980s. He dedicated a tribute to the artists and cultural agents.
