Africa-Press – Angola. Rui Andrade, an Angolan racer, announced on his Instagram profile that he has signed with the Italian motorsport team Iron Lynx for the 2026 International Automobile Federation (FIA WEC) World Endurance Championship season in the LMGT3 category.
Andrade entered the category in 2024, achieving four podium finishes in the FIA WEC since then, including third place at the Le Mans endurance car racing competition and a notable victory at the Fuji competition.
For the 2026 season, Andrade will join Iron Lynx to share a Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo with teammates Maxime Martin (Belgium) and Martin Berry (Australia).
Based in Cesena, Italy, Iron Lynx has competed in various motorsport championships since its founding in 2017.
Since its 2021 debut in the FIA WEC, the team has achieved several podium finishes, including at Le Mans.
The 2026 FIA WEC season will feature eight rounds across four continents, beginning in March in Qatar.The highlight of the calendar will be the 24 Hours of Le Mans, scheduled for June 10–16.
Rui Andrade was crowned the European Endurance Champion in the LMGT3 2025 category this year.
Another notable achievement for the Angolan driver was his third-place finish in the LMGT3 class for the TF Sport team while driving a Corvette C8.R LMGT3 in the world’s most prestigious endurance race, organized by the FIA.
