Russian Diplomat Highlights Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Africa-Press – Angola. The Russian Ambassador to Angola, Vladmir Tararov, reaffirmed Wednesday in Luanda the strengthening of bilateral relations, which have been solidified over several years.

The diplomat emphasized this fact upon leaving an audience granted by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, during which he took the opportunity to offer farewell greetings after an eight-year mission in Angola.

According to the ambassador, who has already been appointed to Mozambique, the meeting served to thank President João Lourenço for the attention he has paid to cooperation between the two countries and the strengthening of ties between their peoples.

Vladmir Tararov said that these relations have been forged over several years on the basis of friendship and solidarity that unite the two states and peoples, and that there is a firm desire to develop them further.

He stated that, at this time, they are working to further develop them in the economic field, with a special focus on agriculture, but also involving the sharing of technologies. Regarding this topic, he noted that there are many other areas that the two countries can use as a starting point, not just for economic cooperation.

Furthermore, he emphasized that the parties are working on the earliest possible visit by the Angolan Head of State to the Russian Federation.

Taking stock of his time as a diplomat in Angola, Vladmir Tararov emphasized that it was positive, as it brought the two governments and peoples closer together, with the exchange of cultural traditions between the two countries being the greatest achievement.

He announced that a Russian Cultural Center will soon open in Angola and an Angolan one in his country, as a result of signed agreements. “Angola will always be in my heart.

I was not only there for these years, but I was also a member of the Joint Political-Military Commission (CPPM) in 1992, as a peacekeeper for the Russian side, so I carry many memories of the country,” he said.

This fact makes the diplomat very pleased to have also contributed to the development of the country’s democratic system.
