Africa-Press – Angola. Yesterday, Sagrada Esperança took an important step in the fight for the top of the league table of the National Football Championship of the I Division, Girabola’2021/22, by defeating Recreativo do Libolo, by 2-0, at Estádio da Vila de Calulo, province of Cuanza-Sul, in anticipation of the 23rd round.
Luís Tati scored the diamonds’ first goal, in the 44th minute, following a corner kick. The right-back jumped higher and got ahead of the opposing defenders.
Despite the advantage, the first half was marked by balance with combined plays from both sides.
In the second half, the teams entered facing offensive actions, with emphasis on the hosts who were constantly looking for equality, but lacked concentration and effectiveness of the forwards.
After several missed opportunities, Celso took an excellent opportunity to increase the result, in the 66th minute, in a quick counterattack.
The captain of the Lunda team had a strong shot without giving the goalkeeper Cambila, from Recreativo do Libolo, and sentenced the match.
During the game, the hosts still looked for equality, but the physical condition of the Libolenses was not up to the challenge with the diamonds.
Despite the victory against 1º de Agosto, on Sunday, at Estádio Nacional 11 de Novembro, in Luanda, for the 22nd round, Libolo failed to maintain the path of seven consecutive victories.
With the victory, the diamonds remain in the second position of the classification, with 50 points and added the 15th triumph.
In the history of the matches played against each other in the competition, the diamonds have 12 victories, an equal number of draws and six defeats.
Sagrada Esperança, on the other hand, starts preparing, today, in Luanda, for the game with Wydad Athlétic Club de Casablanca, aiming at the match this Saturday, at 20:00, at Estádio Nacional 11 de Novembro, referring to the fifth round of Group D. of the African Champion Clubs’ League.
The Moroccan ensemble is expected at the beginning of the night at the International Airport 4 de Fevereiro.
Continuation of the round
The match is “amputated”, due to the request to postpone the game between Clube Desportivo da Lunda-Sul (CDLS) and 1º de Agosto, scheduled for Sunday, at 15:00, at Estádio Municipal das Mangueiras, in Saurimo.
The military asked the FAF to reschedule the date, due to the transfer of two players for the appointments of the Palancas Negras, at the end of this month, in Rio Maior (Portugal), within the scope of the FIFA Date.
