Sagrada Esperança faces Cuando Cubango in Dundo

Africa-Press – Angola. Sagrada Esperança, ranked third with 18 points, will host today, at 3:00 pm, Cuando Cubango FC (seventh with 13) in the city of Dundo, in a continuation game of the third round that will end this month with the match between 1o de Agosto and Santa Rita de Cássia FC, in Luanda.

The diamonds fight for the top of the National Championship leaderboard and assume, theoretically, the favoritism for the three points against a team that fights for maintenance. On nine occasions when they have faced each other, Sagrada Esperança have won six against Cuando Cubango FC and drawn three.

Despite the history, diamonds could experience a moment of surprise at the Estádio Sagrada Esperança in Dundo. In football, home favoritism is not absolute. In the last edition of Girabola, the southern Lundas thrashed the outsiders by 3-0 in Dundo for the fourth round.

The challenge between 1o de Agosto and Santa Rita de Cássia awaits the rescheduling of the exact date and time this month for the conclusion of the round. The game initially scheduled for last month was not played due to the involvement of the Rio Seco military in the last qualifying round for the group stage of the Nelson Mandela Cup.

In the opening matchday, on October 8th, Sporting de Cabinda beat Desportivo da Huíla by 2-0 at Estádio Municipal do Tafe, Grupo Desportivo Isaac drew 0-0 with Recreativo do Libolo at Estádio Edelfride Palhares da Costa “Miau ” (former Municipality of Benguela).

The day provided other results: Wiliete SC defeated Interclube by 2-0, Académica do Lobito drew with FC Bravos do Maquis (2-2) and ASK Dragão drew with Sporting de Benguela to zero balls.

Petro de Luanda, which suffered its second defeat in the competition on Tuesday, leads the leaderboard with 25 points, followed by Willete SC minus two. ASK-Dragão do Uíge holds the “red lantern” in 16th place with three points, behind GD Isaac in 15th place, with one more.
