Africa-Press – Angola. The 205 scholarship holders who arrived in the country from Cuba on Sunday met, this Monday, in Luanda, with the chairman of the Ordem dos Médicos, Elisa Gaspar, to ask for advice and learn more about the procedures for the framework in the health sector. Health.
The new professionals, trained in various specialties, such as General Medicine, Stomatology and Nursing, also asked the chairman of the Order of Physicians for information on public tenders, certification of documents and requirements for access to the Order.
Elisa Gaspar clarified some of the doubts of the new doctors and said that she welcomes them, as they are qualified staff to strengthen the country’s health system. “The Order of Doctors is prepared to support and guide them in any way possible”.
The coordinator of the National Youth Council (CNJ) in Cuba, José Ferreira, who witnessed the act, considered it positive, adding that the Angolan State has given due attention to the graduates and, therefore, believes in the framing of new professionals, taking into account the projects for the construction of new hospital units in the country.
Among the recent graduates, Manuel Muika, 28, a general practitioner, said he was satisfied with the treatment given by the Angolan government when he arrived in the country. “Now the concern is to resolve issues of translation and authentication of documents and then put into practice everything I’ve learned in the last six years”.
Telma Bernardo, also a general practitioner, said that the years of training were very difficult, due, among other things, to adapting to the language. “I had the help of many Angolan students in Cuba to overcome these issues”.
