The Escorpiões de Viana conquered, this Friday (2), the trophy of the 22nd edition of the Lwini Cup in wheelchair basketball, by defeating Misto do Uíge, national champion, by 40-27, in the final game, played at the Dream Space Pavilion, at Kikuxi, in Luanda. At halftime, the club from Viana was already winning by 16-14, in a match marked by balance in the first two halves.
In the final part of the game, the national champions had no technical-tactical arguments to reverse the result.
To reach the final, the Scorpions defeated Obra Social da Maxinde on Thursday, by 47-23, at the Dream Space pavilion. Uíge’s formation “beat” the Professional Rehabilitation Center, by 55-24, in Kkikuxi. Viana, by 37-20, for the decision of the third classified.
In addition to basketball, Fundo Lwini, organizer of the competition, will compete, this morning, in athletics and football tournaments for amputees at Estádio dos Coqueiros, in downtown Luanda.
In this edition of the Lwini Cup, athletes from the capitals, the country, Cuanza-Norte, Uíge and Malanje participated in basketball, athletics (both genders) and football.
The four-square tournament was played as part of the celebrations for the Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated worldwide today.
