Africa-Press – Angola. Portugal has seven footballers on the list of nominees for the “Golden Boy”, award from the Tuttosport newspaper, which distinguishes the most promising player under 21 to play in Europe.

From the list, shortened yesterday from 100 to 60 players, former Benfica players João Félix and Renato Sanches were the Portuguese already distinguished with the Golden Boy award, respectively in 2019 and 2016.

Regarding the list of 100 nominees, released in June, Portugal lost three players, all of them linked to Sporting: Rodrigo Ribeiro, Tiago Tomás, who is on loan at Stuttgart, and Joelson Fernandes, who plays on loan at Basel. In the list, which is successively voted on, until it is reduced to a group of 20 finalists, Francisco Conceição (Ajax/Hol), Diego Moreira (Benfica), Fábio Carvalho (Liverpool/Ing), Fábio Silva (Anderlecht/Bel), Henrique Araújo (Benfica), Nuno Mendes (Paris Saint-Germain/Fra) and Paulo Bernardo (Benfica) are now the Portuguese nominees.
