Africa-Press – Angola. 1,225 liters of gasoline were seized over the weekend, in the municipality of Maquela do Zombo, northern Uíge province, by the local Criminal Investigation Service (SIC).
The fuel, which was to be sold in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), was seized in Maseke village (inside a house), located 35 kilometers from the village of Maquela do Zombo.
According to the SIC spokesman, Zacarias Fernando, unidentified elements were storing fuel in 25-litre drums, to be sold in the Kwilu Ngongu region, in the DRC.
As a result, he said that steps were being taken to locate and arrest citizens involved in fuel smuggling.
