Africa-Press – Angola. The Deputy Director-General of the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), Commissioner Tomé João, recommended, Tuesday (08), in the province of Uíge, greater rigor in the inspection of border areas, to prevent the illegal entry of citizens into the country. .

The SME in Uíge repatriated, in 2021, 391 citizens from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), due to illegal entry and stay in the country, registering an increase of 240 citizens compared to the same period in 2020.

Tomé João, quoted by Angop, spoke at the inauguration of the new provincial director of the SME in Uíge, Sebastião Francisco Teles, and asked for greater responsibility in the fight against illegal immigration.

The province of Uíge shares a 442-kilometer land border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
