Africa-Press – Angola. A photovoltaic plant, with the capacity to produce around five megawatts, will be built in the coming months in the municipality of Luacano, Moxico province, as part of the program for electrification of areas with electricity deficits.

The project, announced by Governor Ernesto Muangala, as part of his working visit to that locality, could cover more than two thousand five hundred homes, through modern and sustainable technologies and a park of solar panels, to be implemented in an area of about ten hectares.

The project, in charge of the company M. Couto Alves, has PRODEL as a contractor and represents an important milestone for the electrification of the municipality, whose growth was difficult due to lack of energy and poor condition of the communication routes.

Luacano is one of the few municipalities in the province that still faces enormous difficulties in all areas and, in the view of the new governor, it is intended, with the first visit, to change the situation, which is increasingly critical.

In fulfillment of his work agenda, Ernesto Muangala held meetings with youth, women, traditional and ecclesiastical authorities, as well as representatives of political parties with parliamentary seats.

The provincial governor heard several concerns that make life difficult for citizens, such as the low offer of education, medical and drug assistance, youth unemployment, poor state of the communication routes, lack of banking services and lack of support for business initiatives.

The official promised the gradual resolution of the concerns raised, according to the financial availability, and asked for the joint efforts of all segments of society so that the problems of the municipality are overcome.

The governor announced that the Luena/Luacano/Luau section, covering more than 300 kilometers, will be paved during this term.
