Africa-Press – Angola. Sonangol currently produces 200,000 barrels/day in blocks 0, 14, 31, 32, 06/15, 06/17, 18 and others offshore, where the national oil company is only a partner.
This data was presented during the 3rd Meeting of Presidents and Directors of national companies, members of the Organization of African Oil and Gas Producing Countries (APPO).
According to Nelson Soares, from Sonangol Pesquisa e Produção, the Angolan oil company is actively operating in blocks 3/05, with a production of 20,000 barrels day, and 4/05, with a productivity approaching 3,000 barrels of oil day.
According to engineer Nelson Soares, block 3/05-A is under development and already has an exploration and production project in its portfolio. He mentioned that when the block starts operating, it will have production, which could be around between 2.7 and 3 thousand barrels of oil day.
He pointed out that Sonangol’s goal is to increase oil production levels for the next five years. “We have blocks that in the next five years will guarantee an increase in crude production, such as 5/06 and 27, located in the Namibe basin”, he said.
