Spanish Ambassador Highlights Good Relations with Angola

Africa-Press – Angola. The ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain in Angola, Manuel Maria Lejarreta, reiterated, on Friday, in Moçâmedes, his country’s interest in continuing to expand and strengthen bilateral relations, with mutually advantageous actions.The diplomat, who was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of a Logistics Park belonging to a Spanish company, in the Saco Mar area, in Moçâmedes, reported that around 40 companies from his country operate in the national territory on a permanent basis.

On the occasion, he stated that he has seen the country’s evolution towards progress in many sectors, hence having highlighted his belief in the future of the Angolan economy.

He considered this to be an important and traditional market for Spanish companies, stating that his country’s exports to Angola are diversified and contribute to the increase in the production of goods and services.

“Angola is a priority for Spain in the sub-Saharan region, which was demonstrated by the visit of the King of Spain in 2023, as a result of the good relations between the two States”, he assured.

He announced that Spain has positioned itself as one of the main importers of Angolan oil, becoming one of the main European partners in the sector.

“At a time when Angola is celebrating 50 years of independence, I must remember that the two States established diplomatic relations in 1977, and that throughout this period economic relations have been consolidated,” he argued.

He added that the Angolan Executive has a strong relationship with Spain, sharing a common political vision.
