Africa-Press – Angola. After the uncertainty of the match being held due to the heavy rain that hit Luanda, more than four thousand noisy spectators watched the “national classic” between Petro de Luanda-1.o de Agosto, on the cold night of Wednesday.

Fans present on the stage of the five play-offs of the final of the National Senior Men’s Basketball Championship, with a capacity for 6,873 people, witnessed the breaking of the unbeaten run of the “tricolors” against the “agostinos”, which had lasted for two years .

In this first challenge of the five-a-side marathon, Petro lost to 1.o de Agosto, by 71-76, in front of an audience that did not hesitate to flock to the venue, despite the constraints arising from the falls in rainfall.

In the access area to the pavilion, on Rua Senado da Câmara and its entire length, there was heavy traffic congestion, caused by motorists and passers-by in search of tickets and others to access the Cidadela Complex.

At the two main doors of the pavilion, the existence of a large amount of water hindered the mobility of people, who stubbornly remained patient and neatly profiled for each one, in turn, to access the stage of the confrontation.

The scenario was repeated in the pavilion’s two car parks, as well as in the adjacent one, completely filled with vehicles.

Satisfaction for some and dismay for others, the truth is that the behavior was orderly on the way out, also due to a greater number of public order agents and traffic regulators at the main gate and surroundings.

The two teams will play again at 7 pm on Friday, for the second clash and, due to the good basketball shown by the contenders, the Cidadela pavilion, built in 1974, runs the risk of registering a sold-out capacity.
