Africa-Press – Angola. Eight swimmers won the first edition of the fast swimming tournament called “Pulungunza”, held in the pool of Clube Náutico da Ilha de Luanda (CNIL), on Saturday night.
This is Rhanya Santos from CNIL, who won the final of the 50m coastline event, with a time of 34.05, Aleksandra Zhukov, from 1°de Agosto, winner of the trophy in the 50m, with a record of 39.06.
Nyriam Morais, from CNIL, won the title in the 50m butterfly, with 32.58, Jasmine Lourenço, from 1°de Agosto, triumphed in the 50m freestyle, with a mark of 29.31.
In men’s, Luyane Costa, from 1° de Agosto, is the 50m champion, with 28.81, Sebastião Vica, from Onda Sport Clube, triumphed in the 50m breaststroke, with 32.96.
Enzo Anjos, from 1° de Agosto, won the 50m butterfly, with 28.46, while Janel Tati, from CNIL, is the winner of the 50m freestyle, clocking 25.51.
The sprint tournament was played only in the four 50m events of the respective specialties, involving the elimination of the eight best athletes from the APNL ranking for each specialty (butterfly, freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke) of each gender.
Starting with eight athletes, the event determined the four best times for the semi-finals, having qualified for the final only two who fought for the trophies in each match.
It is the first provincial experience that aims to give more dynamics to swimmers, aiming to improve their marks in speed.
The APNL season starts on the 1st of September.
