Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, has been in Lunda Sul province since Tuesday, where she found out about the levels of execution of infrastructures, with emphasis on works in the Santo community field Antonio.
The minister, who heads a multisectoral commission, met with the governor of Lunda Sul, Daniel Neto, with whom she discussed the situation of young people and sports associations in the region.
Palmira Barbosa visited the Santo António community field work budgeted at 300 million kwanzas, being built in an area of 9,812 square metres, with capacity to accommodate 1,92 spectators.
In the multipurpose pavilion, the works are at a physical execution level of 70 percent. It will have the capacity to accommodate a thousand spectators.
The infrastructure contains an arena, boxes, press area, car park, catering services, among other compartments.
The former handball player also visited the works on the Saurimo stadium, paralyzed since 2016, due to financial difficulties, the field of hoses, sports courts adjacent to the Instituto Superior Lueji A ́nkonde and the 17 de Setembro club, now transformed into a concert hall.
At the end of the visit, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Palmira Barbosa, did not make a statement to the press, for health reasons, promising to speak only on Wednesday, in the early hours of the day.
The minister’s agenda for Wednesday includes a meeting with leaders of youth associations, presidents of associations and sports leaders.
The province of Lunda Sul has eight soccer fields, with emphasis on the Estádio Municipal das Mangueiras with capacity for seven thousand and five hundred spectators, and several sports courts.
