Africa-Press – Angola. Standard Bank Angola has recently been optimistic about the prospects for progress in the country’s structural reforms, with financial gains benefiting from the recovery of the oil sector, which combined with tax savings, allow Angola to develop.

These are the conclusions of the first Economic Briefing of 2022 of that banking institution, opened and closed by its CEO, Luís Teles, carried out under the motto: “Re-recovery of growth supported by reforms and appreciation of the price of oil, in a politically busy year -do”, whose emphasis is mainly on the significant improvement of foreign exchange liquidity and supports the economy before the general elections.

According to data advanced at the event, the uncertainty of the pandemic and rigid inflation may, however, continue to impact, still, negatively affect the economy in the short term, while an acceleration of investment will be necessary to limit the expected volatility of economic growth in the medium term.

The Economic Briefing held by that national banking institution is a periodic event, created in 2018 and aimed at the institution’s customers, regulators, public institutions and specialized journalists, which presents an overview of the macroeconomic situation and prospects.

On the other hand, it also served to present a set of positive developments, with evidence of the substantial progress made by Angola, which is moving towards macroeconomic stabilization – and, on the other hand, of the risks that, despite the Executive’s structural efforts, these hold.
