Africa-Press – Angola. Angola incurred expenditures of 6.44 billion kwanza in the second quarter of this year, representing an implementation of 74% of the quarterly forecast and 19% of the annual expenditure set in the 2025 General State Budget (OGE).
According to the Ministry of Finance’s Quarterly State Budget Execution Report for the last three months (April, May, and June), this expenditure represents a 39% increase compared to the same period last year. “Current expenditures in this period are set at 3.35 billion kwanzas, representing an implementation of 22% of the authorized annual expenditure and a 52% share of the total expenditure implemented,” the document states.
It reports that, compared to the previous year, current expenses increased by approximately 25%, primarily impacted by increases in refunds and compensation (+100%), goods (+89%), subsidies and other transfers (+71%), and services (+55%). Personnel expenses, which refer to the payment of salaries and remunerative obligations, totaled 985.72 billion kwanzas, representing an execution rate of 23% compared to approved expenditure and a 15% share of total expenditure, representing a 30% increase compared to the same period last year.
It explains that expenditures on goods and services totaled 498.97 billion kwanzas and 446.64 billion kwanzas, corresponding to an execution rate of 24% and 20% of the authorized annual amount, respectively. It states that expenditure increased by 89%, and expenditure on services also increased by 55% compared to the previous period.
