Africa-Press – Angola. The program of actions of the Pro-Tempore Presidency of Angola in the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) for 2021/2023 was presented, Friday (11), in Malabo, to the Diplomatic Corps and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
It was up to the ambassador to Equatorial Guinea, António Luvualu de Carvalho, to announce the “strategic objectives” of the Angolan Presidency, with emphasis on the implementation of the 4th pillar of CPLP cooperation (the economic one), approved at the last Summit of Heads of State and of Government of the organization, held in Luanda, in July 2021.
According to the diplomat, the country will develop actions of continuity of the previous leaderships, namely, that of Brazil (2016/2018), under the motto “The CPLP and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, as well as Cape Verde (2018/2021) on “People, Culture, the Oceans”, in collaboration with the Executive Secretariat of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries, and will seek internal and external partnerships for the its materialization.
The meeting also served for the heads of diplomatic missions of the organization’s member countries to approve the document that formalized the creation of the CPLP Group of Ambassadors, in Malabo.
In this way, Malabo is included in the list of more than 40 cities worldwide with Groups of Ambassadors from the community and in operation, joining, among others, Addis Ababa, Algiers, Berlin, Brussels, Brasilia, Budapest, Cairo, Geneva, The Hague, Havana, Luanda, Nairobi, Ottawa, Kinshasa, Maputo, Rome, Sao Tome, Tokyo, Tel Aviv, Vienna.
