Switzerland accredits Filomena Delgado as ambassador of Angola

Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan diplomat Maria Filomena Delgado presented, this Tuesday, to the President of the Swiss Confederation, Alain Berset, the Letters of Credence accrediting her as an Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Angola in that country.

During the short audience, in Bern, the diplomat shared with President Alain Berset “important information on the ongoing political and socio-economic transformations in Angola”, says a note from the Embassy of Angola in Switzerland.

On the occasion, Filomena Delgado expressed the desire to see the multifaceted relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries incremented.

Political-diplomatic and cooperation relations between Angola and Switzerland date back to 1975.

The cooperation was fundamentally translated into humanitarian actions, such as demining and construction of the Catofe Agricultural Technical School, located in the municipality of Quibala, province of Cuanza Sul.

The two States have been establishing a process of political consultations at the diplomatic level, which constitutes a useful mechanism, destined to promote the bilateral dialogue between both.

Political consultations between Angola and Switzerland cover, among others, the areas of bilateral relations, regional and international issues of mutual interest, implementation of mutual agreements and exchange of experiences on issues of common interest.
