TAAG Linhas Aéreas de Angola and the European company “Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance” (AFI KLM E&M) signed this Thursday, in the city of Addis Ababa (Ethiopia), an agreement for the maintenance and repair of the fleet Boeing 777 of the national company, during the next five years.

The protocol includes, in addition to repair, consultancy support, as well as a main base material and/or equipment kit (Main Base Kit/MBK) for the Angolan carrier’s aircraft fleet of five Boeing 777-300 and three Boeing 777-200.

The agreement was signed during the “African Aviation MRO Africa” event, which took place from the 23rd to the 25th of this month, in the Ethiopian capital.

According to the note, the president of the TAAG Executive Board, Nelson de Oliveira, considers the agreement as a reflection of a long-term partnership that is being built between the two entities.

In his view, Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance (AFI KLM E&M) is a reliable provider of “MRO” services, a fact that guarantees reliability and efficiency in the maintenance of the Boeing 777 fleet, being crucial for the flag carrier’s operations. national.

The “MRO” service consists of maintenance, repair and operation, as well as involving aspects of management and operation of the company.

For his part, the executive vice-president of “Air France Industries”, Géry Mortreux, stated that the partnership is an opportunity to strengthen his company’s presence in Africa.

Air France Industries KLM Engineering & Maintenance is a company that provides MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) of various products in the aeronautical domain, offering support to almost three thousand aircraft operated by 200 national and international airlines.

This company’s technical support for airlines covers engineering and line maintenance, engine overhaul, aerodynamic structure and support for fan thrust reversers.

It also includes the management, repair and supply of aircraft components, structured around a powerful logistics network, supported by a workforce of more than 12,800 employees.
