Africa-Press – Angola. Angola Airlines company (TAAG) and the American multinational Boeing on Monday in Luanda, during an event called “Dubai Airshow 2025”, signed an agreement to extend pilot training programs.
The agreement will focus on skills development and information management in multiple scenarios, in a program aimed at cadet and experienced pilots.
The Dubai Airshow 2025 is an event that brings together hundreds of exhibitors, aircraft in aesthetic and flying displays, speakers and global visionaries with the aim to share ideas.
According to a press release, Boeing’s support and training programs will assist in preparing TAAG pilots for a variety of specific operational projects, including the reception and integration of new aircraft into the fleet.
As part of these services, Boeing provides experienced staff who can assist TAAG pilots with initial accessibility flights, as well as to learn about flight operations processes.
Boeing pilots are also available to assist TAAG’s flight operations team with practical instruction, monitoring of first flights, and knowledge sharing, to reinforce best practices in the safe and efficient management of new aircraft integrated into the fleet.
This entire process, facilitated by the Boeing pilot team, will enable the airline to transition and adapt quickly to the new aircraft integrated into its fleet, maintaining operational continuity and the highest safety standards.
The document further states that this partnership represents a central pillar of TAAG’s transformation strategy and reinforces its commitment to an increasingly sustainable and technologically robust operation.
“By investing in advanced, competency-based training programs, we ensure the complete preparation of our pilots to operate the new Dreamliner fleet with rigor and efficiency”, reads the document.
In turn, TAAG’s CEO, Clóvis Rosa, said: “Our continuous investment in our teams reinforces TAAG’s operational excellence and supports the maintenance of the highest international safety standards”.
TAAG has recently acquired a total of five new aircraft, which are two Boeing 787 Dreamliners (one 787-9 and one 787-10) and three Airbus A220-300s.
This number is part of a modernization plan that foresees the acquisition of more new-generation aircraft, including four more Boeing 787s and 15 Airbus A220s, by 2027.
