Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan air carrier TAAG launched, on Friday, in Lubango, Huíla province, the social education project called “A Voz da Criança”, for the benefit of 118 minors in vulnerable situations at the Home for Reception and Care ( LAAC).
The project fits into the flag airline’s social responsibility agenda and symbolizes the appeal of children, adolescents and young people in vulnerable conditions, for greater support and attention in discovering talents.
In this first edition, the project will cover the talents already identified among children, teenagers and young people at LAAC, who will be instructed to continue, improve and undertake the modalities and talents of singing, dancing, visual arts, piano/keyboard, futsal, jiu-jitsu and pastry.
The event was preceded by a “dream visit” on board the DT 463 LDA-SDD aircraft, in which the children of the Home had the opportunity to interact with the TAAG crew commanded by the president of the Executive Committee, Nelson de Oliveira.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Nelson de Oliveira highlighted that, with the project, TAAG brings comfort to the children of LAAC, as a dedication of the company, within its social responsibility towards the country.
He highlighted that, in this case, on the occasion of June 1st, International Children’s Day, the public company decided to share with the children of the LAAC incentives for practicing sports and other means aimed at meeting other needs of the Home.
He highlighted that TAAG’s social responsibility actions do not have a single focus, they address various situations in the different locations where their services reach and this year, in addition to Huíla, they have already carried out solidarity actions in the provinces of Luanda and Cunene.
In turn, the general director of the LAA, Orlando Calemba, considered the offer that TAAG gives to children to be “assertive”, because the aim of the home is not only to educate, but also to instruct, discover talents and direct them.
LAAC was founded on May 16, 2022 and hosts 118 children from nine months to 17 years of age, most of whom were victims of abuse. The home promotes and encourages teaching, recreation, sports and monitors children and young people, with the aim of their social inclusion and emancipation.
In 2023, TAAG signed a cooperation protocol with LAAC, in support of the Sustainable Development Objectives, with the prospect of a long-term relationship and since then, the airline has been supporting the home with various donations.
