Africa-Press – Angola. The national senior men’s basketball team will be announced on the 16th of June, with a view to the World Cup, to be played from the 25th of August to the 10th of September, in Asia.
The African champions will be able to train in Portugal, Spain, Jordan and Japan until the eve of the competition.
The information was provided to press, in Luanda, by the president of the Angolan Basketball Federation, Moniz Silva, on the occasion of the presentation of the World Cup, on display in the country until Wednesday (24).
The current edition of the world championship will be played in Indonesia, Philippines and Japan.
Angola will participate for the ninth time in the global basket ball event in search of overcoming its best presence, ninth place in 2006, in Japan.
The person in charge, sparing in explanations, even indicated which formations will serve as tests for the national combined during the preparation stage.
As for another call-up for the African Championship, for athletes playing in the respective countries, which Angola will host from the 8th to the 16th of July, it will be announced on the 1st of June.
Unlike the other, this one will carry out the preparation in the country in three phases, the first in Luanda, the second in Huíla province and the third again in the country’s capital.
In the first edition, in 2019, held in Egypt, Angola ranked third, under the guidance of the national coach, Paulo Macedo.
