The 19-year-old athlete, residing in Portugal, qualified for the aforementioned event by winning the bronze medal, in individual (rhythm, apparatus and mass), at the 16th African Championship, held on the 18th and 19th of this month, in Cairo. , Egypt.
In 2021, Luana has already been to the World Cup in Japan, after having won three bronze medals, in the specialty, at the African Championship, also held in Egypt.
Gymnasts Aycha Morgado and Sofia Higino are also part of the National Team for the world event, who won the bronze medal, for teams, in the continental event.
In the general classification of the recently concluded African event, which had the participation of seven countries, Angola occupied the third position, behind Egypt and South Africa.
This Wednesday, a delegation from the Angolan Gymnastics Federation (FAG), led by vice-president Carlos de Oliveira, was received by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto.
In the act, held at the ministerial headquarters, in Luanda, the medals were presented, as well as the athletes that make up the National Team.
