Carnival groups from the province of Luanda will begin recording the songs for Carnival 2025, starting next week, in the Xicote Produções and Santos Figueiredo studios.The guarantee was given to PRESS, by the secretary-general of the Luanda Provincial Carnival Association (APROCAL), António de Oliveira “Delon”, at the end of a meeting to evaluate the Carnival, held at the Amphitheatre of the Provincial Government of Luanda (GPL), with the Multisectoral Commission, chaired by the vice-governor for the Political and Social Sector, Manuel Gonçalves.
The secretary-general highlighted that the conditions are in place for the groups’ songs to be recorded in advance so that the groups can take songs with quality sound and arrangements to the parades on the Praia do Bispo waterfront.
The meeting, he said, served to study strategies and detail financial issues to adequately support carnival groups, since many have lost their sponsors.
Delon assured that conditions are being created to soon begin delivering subsidies for the preparation of Luanda’s carnival groups.
The person in charge made it known that since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, which ravaged the world, some mystique has been removed from the competitive parade, since the associations were left without funding from the main sponsors.
The meeting, he said, also served to analyze the work of the jury of classes A, B and C, adding that in the last editions, some groups questioned the veracity of the final results of Entrudo presented by the jury.
