Africa-Press – Angola. An exhibition of twenty-five paintings, by Angolan artist Adão Mussungo, has been taking place since Friday, in Luanda.
The sample, shown in the Shopping Avenida hall, is titled “The Love of the King”, in homage to one of the greatest composers of the reggae musical style, Bob Marley.
“The Love of the King” portrays love and social justice, themes that Bob Marley addressed in most of his songs.
The artist used oil on canvas, acrylic and mixed techniques. The works were carried out over a period of two years.
The exhibition ends on March 15th and can be seen from 9am to 6pm.
According to the artist, the exhibition appeals to society to promote love, social justice, solidarity, among other positive feelings that Bob Marley expressed in his songs.
Robert Nesta Marley (Bob Marley) was born on February 6, 1945, in Jamaica, and died in Miami, on May 11, 1981.
Famous for popularizing reggae internationally, he sold more than 75 million records and, in 1978, three years before his death, he was awarded the “Third World Peace Medal” by the UN.
Adão Mussungo was born in Luanda, on May 3, 1981. He is a painter, draftsman, illustrator, assistant curator and designer, graduated in Painting from the National Institute of Artistic Training.
Currently, he coordinates the Young Visual Artists Brigade.
