Africa-Press – Angola. The third Youth Congress of the National Front for the Liberation of Angola (JFNLA), taking place from the 9th to the 12th of this month, in Luanda, will reorganize the youth arm of the organization, said, this Saturday, the president of the party, Nimi a Simbi.
According to the party leader, who was speaking on the sidelines of the FNLA’s second extraordinary meeting, the party’s youth are divided, which is why this congress should unite young people in favor of the organization’s ideals.
“When I assumed the presidency of the FNLA I found a completely divided youth, so this congress will bring together young people in what the party’s ideologies are. Likewise, we will focus our attention on holding the Angolan Women’s Association congress, as well as preparing the local elections”, he highlighted.
On the occasion, the politician stated that the party’s leadership will continue to work with a view to regaining its place in the Angolan political chessboard.
During the meeting, participants analyzed the level of preparation for the third JFNLA congress, which is expected to elect the new general secretary, replacing Kiaku Kiala, removed from office due to alleged unseemly conduct.
The militants Carlos Cassoma, Vita Francisco and Bumba Paiva are running for leadership of the JFNLA.
The congress is expected to have more than 300 delegates from the country’s 18 provinces.
