Africa-Press – Angola. The traceability process has reached 93% of the diamonds produced by mining companies in Angola, a significant milestone that reinforces this subsector’s commitment to transparency, governance, and international best practices.
According to the Angolan National Diamond Company (ENDIAMA), this progress results from the joint effort of mining companies in modernizing their control and monitoring processes, allowing for complete tracking of each diamond, from its geographical origin to the end consumer.
The state-owned diamond company also highlights the availability of information on each mining company’s compliance with ESG standards (related to the environmental, social, and governance pillars) and alignment with the demands of international markets that value minerals with traceable and responsible origin.
It also states that mining companies remain committed to strengthening their traceability systems and technological innovation, with the goal of achieving 100% traceability of national production in the near future, consolidating Angola as a benchmark in transparency, efficiency, and sustainability in the diamond subsector.
