Africa-Press – Angola. Voting citizens, in the country and in the diaspora, voted yesterday to elect the President of the Republic, Vice-President of the Republic and deputies to the National Assembly, in the fifth General Elections, counted from 1992, 2008, 2012, 2017 and Now, those of 2022, marked by an atmosphere of tranquility and stability, the result of calls from the CNE, competing political forces and members of civil society.
Accordingly, several entities highlighted the organization of the process and the orderly way in which voters attended the polling stations. The Vice-President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, considered, after exercising the right to vote, the fifth General Elections, which take place, for the first time, abroad, a sign of maturity for Angolans.
Bornito de Sousa, who voted in assembly nº 42, at the Faculty of Law of the António Agostinho Neto University, underlined, on the occasion, that “we have all day to vote”. Polling station 42 opened its doors at 7 am and registered an atmosphere of calm and great work dynamics.
This assembly complied with the directive that establishes voting priority for groups of voters in special regimes, with emphasis on members of the Angolan Armed Forces, members of the National Police and the Civil Protection and Fire Service.
