Africa-Press – Angola. The province of Bengo will participate with 20 actors in the 2nd National Theatre Day, which will take place from the 25th to the 30th of this month, in Benguela, as part of the celebrations of World Theatre Day, which will be celebrated on the 27th of this month.Bengo’s debut at the event is scheduled for the 28th, with the presentation of the play “Maluco Saudável”, a monologue by the Novos Horizontes Teatro group, performed by actor Avô Gongas.

The 2nd National Theatre Conference will bring together artists from various provinces in the country, with the aim of promoting culture and the development of the performing arts in the country. In the lands of ombaka, the actors from Bengo hope to entertain the public, presenting plays that portray the socio-cultural life of the country. Bengo is participating in the event, as a result of the partnership between the Angolan Theatre Association of Bengo and the Provincial Office of Culture and Tourism, as well as the support of the local government.

Avô Gongas, mentor of the “Thursdays and Sundays of Theatre” project, highlighted the importance of the participation of actors from the province in the event, stating that the conference represents an opportunity to exchange experiences and value Angolan theatre.

“Theatre is our voice, our identity and our way of transforming lives. We are ready to take the talent of Bengo to the province of Benguela and show our strength and dedication to the performing arts”, said the actor.

The delegation from Bengo province also includes the director of the Provincial Office of Culture and Tourism and the provincial secretary of the Angolan Theatre Association in Bengo.
