UN satisfied with visa exemption and facilitation agreement with Angola

Africa-Press – Angola. The resident coordinator of the United Nations in Angola, Zahira Virani, expressed this Monday, in Luanda, satisfaction with the signing of the visa exemption and facilitation agreement for ordinary passports between the Angolan government and the international organization.

Recently Angola and the United Nations signed the legal instrument that facilitates the entry of UN staff, dependents, families and specialists on work.

According to a press release, this Tuesday, Zahira Virani expressed this appreciation during a working meeting, in Luanda, with the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António.

During the hearing, the UN official accredited in Angola stated that the signing of the agreement demonstrates Angola’s commitment to multilateralism, in which the United Nations is the largest representation.

He also said that the Angolan Government’s gesture means a clear sign of appreciation for the work of the United Nations, its employees, technicians and specialists, mainly with the intention of coming to Angola to work together, in order to meet common goals, which are sustainable development, Agenda 2030 and others.

“The meeting between the two entities also served to review issues related to the Cooperation Framework between Angola and the United Nations (UN) for Sustainable Development 2024-2028”, highlights the statement.

The note adds that the agreements aim to facilitate the life, movement and stay of United Nations employees in the country, which demonstrates the Angolan Government’s commitment to cooperation with the global political organization.
