Africa-Press – Angola. The supposed Workers’ Union Committee of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources “does not have legal personality”, due to the lack of registration of its status in the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights database, it was learned this Sunday.

Trade union associations acquire legal personality by registering their statutes with the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, in accordance with Law no. 21-D/92, of 28 August – Trade Union Law, according to a press.

Therefore, the lack of registration of its statute, a document that legitimizes the existence of a union committee, in the Justice database nullifies all acts carried out by the so-called union in the Fisheries sector.

The statement by the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MINPERMAR) follows the call for a strike by the aforementioned workers’ committee, with a view to demanding better working conditions.

According to this ministry, the strike called by this commission, for this Monday (6th), is ineffective, as it “does not meet the legal requirements”.

In a note, MINPERMAR clarifies that, even if hypothetically the strike was decided by the workers, this decision is also without any effect, as it does not meet the legal requirements of employees in this sector, including the superintended institutes.

Therefore, the management of the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources warns that workers who “do not show up at the place of work”, due to an alleged strike, will have unjustified absences, based on article 10 of Law no. 26/22, of August 22nd – Basic Law for the Public Service.

On the other hand, this ministerial department calls on employees, in general, to adopt attitudes that aim to comply with ethics and civility, while working to guarantee the normality of services.
