Africa-Press – Angola. An institutional cooperation protocol between the National Union of Justice Technicians and Administrative Employees of the Attorney General’s Office (SINTEJA/PGR) and the provincial council of the Angolan Bar Association “OAA” was signed this Friday in Menongue , with a view to defending the interests of the affiliates of this association.
Speaking to the press at the end of the activity, the provincial secretary of SINTEJA/PGR, Alberto Viagem Tutuvala Chivala, said that the protocol presents a set of conditions to facilitate the interests of justice technicians, when they are faced with a contentious situation within the scope of the exercise of its activities.
He clarified that, in addition to strengthening the institutional partnership, activities aimed at specific training and training seminars on legal matters and other matters of common interest could be developed jointly.
In the province of Cuando Cunbango, SINTEJA/PGR controls approximately 45 technicians, of which 36 are formally registered and in good standing and enjoy their rights and duties in full exercise as affiliates of the institution.
“Cooperation is a precaution, since we are subject to civil or criminal disciplinary proceedings in which we need an institution that advocates for us and we believe that this institution is the OAA because it is the one that works and deals with judicial matters”, he stressed.
For his part, the president of the OAA in the province, Telmo Fançony Chiuila, stressed that the protocol will allow, in those situations where one or another disciplinary process is opened against one of the members, the bar association to carry out the due legal follow-up.
The province of Cuando Cubango has 106 lawyers, 51 senior and 55 interns.
