Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of UNITA in Cunene, Torga Pangeiko, appealed, in Ondjiva, to the State institutions to guarantee an electoral campaign oriented towards civility, in which each militant respects the opinion of other political parties.
The official was speaking at the celebration of the 56th anniversary of Galo Negro, marked on the 13th of this month, but, due to a calendar imperative, it was only celebrated on Saturday, with the presence of activists from the six municipalities that make up the province of Cunene.
Torga Pangeiko stated that “it is entirely desirable that, while the electoral campaign takes place, UNITA militants respect the opinions of others, and we want the MPLA to also proceed in the same way, and that the State institutions, intervening in the process, work in accordance with the precepts provided for by law”.
The leader of the largest opposition party believes that in August, the month of the general elections, it will be the opportunity for UNITA to show in practice its governance project, towards political alternation.
“But for this to happen, it is necessary for each Angolan to go to a One-Stop Service for the Public and register or update electoral data, in order to be able to vote”, emphasized Torga Pangeiko.
