Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of UNITA in Uíge, Félix Simão Lucas, highlighted Tuesday, the rehabilitation and asphalting of the 93 kilometers of road that connects the municipalities of Sanza Pombo and Buengas in order to improve the circulation of people and goods.
The construction of the Sanza Pombo/Buengas road, whose works began in March this year, was part of the MPLA’s electoral promises, made by its president João Lourenço, when he traveled to Uíge province in an election campaign, which would guarantee an immediate intervention as soon as they won the general elections, held on August 24, 2022.
Félix Simão Lucas, who was speaking at a press conference, said that his party had already scheduled a visit to the locality, in order to monitor the progress of the work, as well as compliance with the established deadline.
On the other hand, Félix Simão Lucas was concerned about several piles of garbage scattered in the city of Uíge, mainly in the markets.
To avoid the worst, he appealed to the local government to take immediate measures, an intervention that could prevent the population from contracting various diseases.
As for the party’s challenges, Félix Simão Lucas said that UNITA is already working for the success of the next elections and other political challenges.
