UNITA in Uíge calls on youth to refrain from drug use

Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of UNITA in Uíge, Félix Simão Lucas, this Sunday, in the municipality of Songo (Uíge), appealed to local youth to refrain from excessive consumption of alcoholic beverages and other types of drugs.

In the political act alluding to the 57th anniversary of the founding of UNITA, marked on March 13, the deputy argued that drug use and prostitution are evils that disrupt society and compromise the country’s progress.

For this and other reasons, he considered it important that young people abstain from drug use, having also considered it as the cause of the destruction of public goods, an act that is witnessed in several regions of the country.

He informed that the youth should bet on training and continue to show the same courage as the older ones who bet on the Armed Struggle for National Liberation.

The provincial secretary of UNITA also recognized the contribution of Angolans in the Struggle for the Liberation of Angola

He explained that UNITA was founded on March 13, 1966, the occasion of its first Congress, in Muangai, Moxico province, by the first President of UNITA, Jonas Savimbi, and a group of national patriots.

The ideas that guided the founding of UNITA remain valid, alive and current, a motive that constitutes great reflection, determination and political persistence, for all who accept its ideals, he said.

The political act, which brought together UNITA militants and guests, took place under the motto “Unita 57 years for an independent, democratic and development Angola”.
