Africa-Press – Angola. The president of UNITA, Adalberto Costa Júnior, demanded greater commitment, a spirit of mobilization and hard work from the newly appointed provincial secretaries and assistants of the party.
The leader of the largest opposition party, who was speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the new members of the board, recalled that the political organisation faces great challenges and a lot of work ahead.
The party’s objective, said Adalberto Costa Júnior, is to strengthen its foundations in order to safeguard UNITA’s ideals and interests, admitting that the new provincial secretaries are taking on a mission of extraordinary importance.
“We are at a time when the country is facing challenges of extraordinary importance, not only of a political, social, economic and spiritual nature, but there is an absolute need for us to convey a message of hope. I am completely certain that, although this is a challenging time, it must also be one of opportunity”, he admitted.
Adalberto Costa Júnior assured that the party has the capacity to reinvent itself in the face of challenges, stressing that the members who have been sworn in will be able to bring the party the fulfillment of its mission of restoring hope to the Angolan people.
“We have the conditions, as a perfect organization, with commitment, with permanent mobilization, and local work, to be successful and make the political change that everyone expects a reality,” he added.The president of UNITA assured the newly appointed that they can count on the collective leadership of the party, clarifying that the missions are multiple and complementary.
“The new provincial secretaries and the deputies who took office also have the noble mission of uncovering the various difficulties that continue to plague our populations, as well as other internal issues of the party”, he said.
The following provincial secretaries of UNITA were appointed and took office: Joaquim Sapondo Exinha for Cubango, Osvaldo Júlio for Cuando, Bastos Samalambo, Icolo and Bengo, Elizete William for Moxico, Albino José for Moxico-Leste, as well as the deputy secretaries of Tito Linéha for Cuando, Eduardo Figueira for Icolo and Bengo, Diamantino Canjila for Moxico, José Mukopio for Moxico, David Chiyovo for Cuando, and Irina Ferreira for Luanda.
