Africa-Press – Angola. The president of UNITA, Adalberto Costa Júnior, declared this Tuesday that his party will, in the first year of the V Legislature, focus on the debate on the General State Budget (OGE).
The UNITA leader was speaking to the press at the end of the audience given to him by the President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira.
“We are certainly going to have a better participation in the hemicycle, thinking about Angola and, in an immediate phase, about the issue of the General State Budget (OGE)”, he expressed.
The deputy also informed that his party would like to see an OGE that favors the sectors of Education and Health, “so that we can fulfill the goals that the country has committed to respect at the regional and continental level”.
He understands that the issue of education is strategic. “The future is built with competent staff, who must deserve priority in the space of governance”, she considered.
Adalberto Costa Júnior added that, for this legislative year, UNITA will also set in motion the main concerns regarding the inspection of the Executive’s acts.
“By expanding the representativeness space, we will have a better presence within the country. The Parliament’s specialty committees are constituted and UNITA has increased its representativeness space in the hemicycle”, he underlined. Adalberto Costa Júnior and the President of the National Assembly also addressed the dispute over the composition of the Board of the National Assembly, with UNITA claiming the 2nd vice-presidency of the “House of laws”.
“We are also talking about the fact that we do not have a composed National Assembly Board. As you know, there is a process that was directed to the Constitutional Court (TC)”, said the politician, appealing to this institution not to be too late in pronouncing on this matter. dispute.
The UNITA leader recalled that, in 1992, the party, with 70 deputies, had the vice-presidency of the National Assembly “and now we have 90, but the MPLA held the 1st and 2nd vice-presidency. good example for reconciliation and democratic openness,” he said.
Adalberto Costa Júnior considered the National Assembly a gateway to common dialogue, to be able to debate the real country. “We came, first of all, to share and leave some fundamental elements and the fundamental challenges that we would like to see carried out for the good of Angola and the Angolans”, he stressed.
At the meeting with the leader of the Parliament, Adalberto Júnior was accompanied by the president of the UNITA Parliamentary Group, Liberty Chiyaka, and the secretary for Communication and Marketing, Marcial Dachala.
