The provincial secretary of UNITA, Mardanês Calunga, said that the party will continue to provide support to the victims of the “tragic accident”, which took place on the 16th of this month, on Estrada Nacional 140, municipality of Cangandala, which still has some injured receiving assistance. at the Malanje Regional Hospital.

Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the politician assured that a lawyer has already been appointed to better determine the veracity of the facts, due to the information collected from the young survivors.

Mardanês Calunga said that, according to information given by the young people, the accident was deliberately caused by the driver who was driving the vehicle, as the citizen was not under the influence of alcohol.

“From the data provided by the young survivors, the driver put the minimum in order not to wake up the motorcycle taxi drivers who were parked on the side of the road and when he approached he put the maximum”, he maintained.

The politician defended the urgent need for the Malanje Provincial Government to implement policies to create more jobs for young people in order to get them out of the moto-taxi practice.

The road accident killed ten people and injured 27 others. All were part of a biker group called “Mednet”.

At the moment, of the 24 patients admitted to the Emergency Surgery Bank of the Malanje Regional Hospital, two citizens are in serious condition and continue to receive medical assistance.
