Africa-Press – Angola. The ambassador of the United States of America, Tulinabo Mushingi, denied, this Thursday, in Luanda, any interference in the Angolan electoral process.

The diplomat made these statements during the ceremony to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the founding of the American Chamber of Commerce in Angola (AmCham-Angola), in response to questions posed by journalists about an alleged US involvement in the General Elections of 24 August.

Tulinabo Mushingi assured that there can be no interference from the US, as the US Administration’s orientation is to work with the Government of Angola, supporting the reforms that are being implemented to deepen relations between the two peoples, with economic benefits mutual.

“We will not interfere, as it is a crucial moment for the country, as elections, whether in the United States, in Angola or in any other country, are a moment where different political parties explain to voters what they are going to do. in case of victory”, he underlined.

He added: “It is a matter for the Angolans and we cannot interfere in it, that is, it is up to the parties to disclose their agendas and it is up to the people to choose, on the 24th of August, the one that best convinces them”, he concluded. Ambassador Tulinabo Mushingi.
