Africa-Press – Angola. Ambassador of the United States of America to Angola, Tulinabo Salama Mushingi, received in audience by the minister of MIREMPET to review the Mining and Oil sectors of Angola.
The Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, received, Tuesday, 5, the US ambassador to Angola, Tulinabo Salama Mushingi, with whom he reviewed the Mining and Hydrocarbon sectors of Angola.
After leaving the audience, Tulinabo Salama Mushingi said that he went to see, with the minister, how to continue working, in order to increase cooperation in the Oil and Gas sector. The US diplomat added that he also evaluated with the minister the way in which US companies can invest more in this domain. The construction of an oil refinery in Soyo by the Quanten consortium was also one of the issues on the table at the meeting between Diamantino Azevedo and Tulinabo Salama Mushingi.
For the US ambassador, “it is a success for us that an American company has won the contract”, because, “as you know, Angola is waiting for the start of the refinery and the company will lay the first stone at the end of this month, which is why We want to go faster”.
Access to the exploration of mineral resources by the American companies and about the consortium and the production of gas were other topics discussed. In the end, Minister Diamantino Azevedo invited the diplomat to visit the SME Post installed at MIREMPET, which made him very satisfied.
