Africa-Press – Angola. The five directors from the United States of America (USA) concluded production of the film inspired by the book ‘The Prisoner – the beginning and the end of an injustice’ in Angola on Friday and have left for Nigeria.

The directors are Cynthia Érivo, Marcos Polo, Jonathan Brown, Gesths Erven and Murphi Stefani, who shot the film in various parts of Luanda province, the country’s capital.

The film summarises the story told in the book by Angolan writer Nituecheni Africano, which has the same title.

The short film is currently being shot in Nigeria and is scheduled for release in August this year in Luanda (Angola).

The production is an initiative of professionals from the production company ‘Fox Films of California 889’, which also deals with tourism in Angola and Nigeria, with the aim of promoting the sustainable development of the countries.

Speaking to ANGOP, the author of the literary work, Africano Nituecheni, said that the film was shot in penitentiaries and tourist attractions in Luanda province.

He recalled that the plot is nuanced by money laundering, abuse of power and influence peddling, full of action and drama, as discussed in the book ‘The Prisoner – the beginning and end of an injustice’, winner of the latest competition held last August in New York City, USA.

He also saw the production of the film as a starting point for bringing together and creating spaces for domestic tourism, as well as business promotion in this sector and the elevation of Angolan literature.

The Angolan writer’s book consists of 12 chapters and 218 pages.
