US Embassy Offers Scholarships

Africa-Press – Angola. The US Embassy in Angola has opened, until the 13th of September this year, applications for short-term scholarships in the specialties of Public Administration, Entrepreneurship and Civic Engagement.

For this academic year, the US embassy informs that it intends to select 14 scholarship holders from Angola, which will increase to 100 those enrolled in the “Mandela Washington Fellowship 2023”.

Those interested in participating in the training should consult the US embassy portal and see what requirements are needed to apply for the scholarships. One of the requirements, according to an embassy statement, is age between 25 and 35 years of age, English proficiency and demonstrated leadership in the field of public administration, entrepreneurship and civic engagement.

The purpose of the Mandela Washington Fellowship is to support, through an exchange program, the support of young African leaders, mainly aiming at promoting the strengthening of democratic governance and security in Africa. The selected scholarship holders, in a total of up to 700, will travel, for six weeks, to the United States
