Africa-Press – Angola. The president of the Texas Chamber of Commerce, Posso Ganame, expressed on Monday, in Dallas, his interest in investing in Angola, especially in the medicine production and distribution market.
According to the official, who was speaking to the press, after an audience with the Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, there is a strong desire to set up factories and take advantage of business opportunities in Angola.
“We are trying to take these companies to Angola and, more importantly, manufacturing companies, especially medicines. We really hope to reach the country and create medicine factories”, he highlighted.
According to the source, there is a large portion of investment and trade between the African continent and the state of Texas, which can also be explored within the framework of a strategic partnership with Angola.

Also on Monday, the Angolan Head of State received a delegation from Chevron, an oil company that has operated in Angola for more than half a century, through its subsidiary Cabinda Gulf Oil Company (CABGOC).
The delegation from the oil company, one of the most important oil operators in the country, was led by the president of Chevron Internacional Exploration and Production, Clay Neff, and included other executives.
Speaking to the press, Billy Lacobie, general director of Chevron in Angola, said that the audience served for the multinational to talk about its presence in Angola over 70 years, which continues to be very intense.
“Chevron has had a great partnership with Angola over these seven decades. We intend to continue investing and taking advantage of the opportunities that exist in Angola,” he said.
He recalled that the oil company recently discovered a new block, in this case 14-23, and continues to work to discover additional blocks in deep waters.
“We continue to work to ensure the stability of our current production in Angola, which is around 250 thousand barrels/day and 250 thousand cubic meters of gas”, he informed.
Likewise, the Angolan President received Alice Albrigth, Director of the Millenium Challenge Corporation, who expressed her administration’s enthusiasm in continuing to work with the Government of Angola in various aspects.
“We are here to continue our discussions, with the support of several other agencies of the American Government, which have commercial tools that can be used to work with the Angolan Government”, expressed the person in charge.
He said, on the other hand, that in terms of the business environment, he sees some opportunities in Angola, so his colleagues in the Government are eager to interact about these opportunities with the various Angolan ministers present at the US-Africa Business Summit.
