Africa-Press – Angola. The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, presides, on Tuesday, in Luanda, the 9th Ordinary Session of the National Water Council (CNA), which, among other matters, will consider the Strategy for the Protection and Preservation of Sources of the main rivers in the country.

According to a press release, the dam inventory project, the national registry of water resources, the creation of the Cafu canal management entity, the basic sanitation program led by the community and schools , are part of the work agenda.

The CNA will also analyze the desalination process by distilling water to supply the Mussulo communities.

Created by Presidential Decree no 76/17, of April 20, the National Water Council is a permanent consultative body of the Holder of Executive Power, of coordination and articulation between the different Ministerial Departments linked to the planning, management and use of water resources, in the context of river basins, whether national or shared by the Angolan state, including users of water resources and local communities.
