Africa-Press – Angola. One hundred families affected during the rains, out of the two hundred cataloged by the Municipal Administration of Cazenga, benefited, Saturday, in Luanda, from basic food baskets, clothing and stoves, in an initiative of local businessmen and the local administration.
The beneficiaries are all from the Cazenga Urban District, with three of these families receiving the goods in their homes due to the fact that they face pathologies that make it impossible for them to move around.
The symbolic reception of the other assets of the Chinese company African Sunrise and the community of West African traders was made by the deputy municipal administrator for the Technical and Infrastructure area, Mandalena Fernandes.
The donation also includes boxes of vegetable oil, pasta, rice, corn meal, toothpaste and used clothes.
On the occasion, the director general of the African Sunrise company, Jack Huang, expressed satisfaction at being able to contribute to reducing the suffering of families in the municipality where he carries out his commercial activity.
He said that he is monitoring the situation of families devastated by the last floods that hit the capital city, in which many of them lost their belongings.
Jack Huang hopes that families can quickly recover and return to their normal lives, although the means provided will not be enough for everyone.
The representative of West African traders, Hamidou Camara, briefly said that his community is in solidarity with the families affected by the rains.
He stated that this gesture meets the appeal made by the local administration to businessmen to join with their little to alleviate the suffering of these people.
One of the beneficiaries, on behalf of the other families, thanked the gesture.
The act of symbolic delivery of the donation took place at the Historic Landmark 4 de Fevereiro.
He said that the little he received will already be able to put meals on the table at his house for his children, grandchildren who lost almost everything due to the rains.
On the occasion, the assistant municipal administrator for the Technical and Infrastructure area, Madalena Fernandes, informed that around 250 families affected during the rains are registered, and the locality has control of more than 600 in need of help.
He referred that during the week the goods will reach other families also affected by the rains.
Cazenga, with more than two million inhabitants, has the districts of 11 de Novembro, Hoji Ya Henda, Kalawenda, Kima Kieza, Cazenga Popular and Tala Hadi.
